In response to your question about recognition, we've been doing something super-simple lately, and yet it seems to be making an impact. I got an assortment of $10 gift cards (the IRS gets fussy if the dollar value is more than "nominal" value but $10 seems to be OK). Each week at our staff meeting, we catch someone doing something right and let them choose a gift card. Last week I didn't have anyone top of mind so I asked the staff if they had someone they wanted to recognize. Sure enough, two cards were awarded in a flash. I need to restock my gift card supply but I'm thrilled with how well it's working. It's a weekly reminder to say thanks for all the good work and give someone an extra pat on the back in front of their peers. Congrats Jeremy! That is awesome!
